PostSubject: Sens / Av's......   Thu Feb 19, 2009 12:36 am

Don't feel too bad....the Sens actually did pretty good, getting a point as did the HABS tonight is better than nothing. The Sens were 4-1-1 with the last game of 5 in 7 days in Mile High...

Although, now all of a sudden the media is talking about the possibility of Ottawa making the post season. I've been saying this for the past week or so.....they've got 2-3 games on hand on most teams ahead of them...( at the start of the week ) they've made ground on some of those teams that did not play.......

But really......I know it's all about just getting into the post season first and worrying about who or what you have to face once you're in .......BUT in reality, if the Sens were to make the post season, I hope they bring there own shovels to dig themselves from the mess the Bruins or Capitals will make of them if they meet up !!

YIKES........

GO SENS !!

You know what, in this day of age of hockey, if your an 8th seed team or a 1st seed team, anybody can win a playoff series. Look at the oilers a couple of years back, they just make the playoffs and go to the finals. If this was 20 years ago, i would agree totally but it's so true like the saying goes. The playoffs is a whole new season!!

PostSubject: Realistically......   Thu Feb 19, 2009 7:23 am

I'm aware of what can happen.....but in this scenario, realism plays a BIG role !

Washington has kicked Ottawa's ass for the last 2 years, in the same breath...so has the Bruins .......both teams have not given Ottawa a sniff of winning a game against them !

The Bruins have the BEST goal tending ( Thomas ) in the East... if not the league...
and they seem to score goals at will...have been all season long !

As for Washington...goals, goals...goals....also one of the best penalty kill / power play in the league..

Sens are jinxed playing any of these 2 teams....everyone expected the Pens to pretty much sweep the Sens who finished 8th last season and.....not even close !

Got to admit, it's nice even talking about the Sens getting a sniff at the post season....I do believe it won't happen though....

I dont think the Bruins have the best goaltending in the league. They are very similar to the Red Wings. They have an excellent system that only allows pucks from the oustide.

Thomas is similar to Osgood. He is benefiting from a great team. Throw someone like Lundqvist or Luongo on either of these teams and they would be unstoppable.

PostSubject: Thomas....Bruins....   Thu Feb 19, 2009 10:14 pm

Ok.....but he is on top of the league in save percentage...( .932 )

25 wins 7 losses and 5 ties.....3 shut-outs ..( Thomas )
14 wins 3 losses and 3 ties.....1 shut-out ....( Fernandez )

Thomas and Fernandez are 2nd and 3rd respectively in goals against in the league..best goaltending tandem in the league !

No fluke .....they're good !

Without good goaltending, you're nobody....!!
