With the U.S markets trying to not get flushed down the toilet. Small market NHL teams are looking to stay a float.

It's an old article but it definitely is still a possibility!!

According to CBC's Satelite hotstove, the Phoenix Coyotes are in great financial trouble. Maybe they will be one of the rumoured teams to fold after season's end?

Coyotes need Investors pretty badly from the sounds of it... losing a ton of money... just wait a few more years I wouldn't be surprised to see other teams such as Nashville, Florida and Atlanta in the same boat..... These teams don't have a very strong fanbase at a all... I think Canada will get another team eventually... Its just good business to have another team or 2 in Canada... and from the sounds of it another team in Southern Ontario (Toronto)..... Its time the NHL give up on trying to grow this sport in cities that don't care about hockey...

It would definitely be nice to see some new NHL teams in Canada? I would like to see winnipeg get their team back, even quebec as well. The rivalry between the Nordiques and the habs was always a amazing to watch. Bettman has to realize that the U.S market is very hard to crack with football and baseball, which are the core sports to watch.

I agree. I think Quebec, Winnipeg, Hamilton, and Kansas City should get NHL teams.

The popularity in Tampa, Miami (Florida), Phoenix, and Nashville are just not picking up.

The hard part is just finding owners willing to move these teams to these areas.
