The way they are playing the leafs tonight, I highly doubt it.

Discuss!

The team that went out and rented what they felt they needed..( Shero and Mario ) to get them to the cup and possibly win it................but at the end of the day, they lost and with that, lost several players through the deadline and end of season....key players....Malone, Christiansen, Armstrong ...Hossa...( not that they expected him to re-sign..hehehe )..etc...
key defencement as well if I am not mistaken......!!!

So with Malkin and Crosby having to be the one's to score, they are barely treading water looking from the outside....as for their goal tending, Fleury has to step it up and win a few for them also !

Therrien...people think he made a mediocre team much better.....but I think, as it is in most cases, the GM(s) who brought in the talent...the only thing Therrien had to do was get the line combinations right and watch them go......if the players are tired of what the coach has to say....after a while, they stop playing for him....which I believe is the case here !

Gonchar will make a difference but they need help at the deadline or they will be DEAD !

2 cents...

JC

I don't know but I think the penguins are in some sort of financial difficulties. I mean crosby was a franchise saver for the penguins when they got him. And when they went to the cup finals, there team was loaded with talent. I find they couldn't keep anybody, I mean malone was a good player and roberts too, i mean roberts is playing for peanuts cause he just loves the game. Now the team isn't doing squat, I mean they fired the coach and they still can't win a game. But getting back to my point, I think they are still in the red, because if they weren't you would have traded one of your superstars and it wouldn't be crosby. I think they are keeping malkin just for popularity which equal revenue that he brings to the team. I know what your thinking. That's what hockey is all about for the business owner. Well Mr. business owner shiero, news flash!!! You don't win games with two superstars and then just the rest. You win games with 20 good players and one superstar. I think they should get rid of malkin and sign alot of "good" players because crosby will make good players great players.

I will make a bold prediction and say malkins days are numbered in pittsburgh. You heard it here first folks.
