Dead Or Alive........?

For several, several years, Junior B hockey in Kemptville was basically the only hockey this town grew to enjoy and with a fair amount of success I might add......now thanks to the CJHL, we have our own version of " what's behind door # 1 " ....guessing which player or individual will next be in either a suit or hockey gear replacing yet another hopeful who thought they may have had a chance to become something or a part of something... achieve a certain level of success that may or may not lead them to something down the road be-it hockey or otherwise....unfortunately when you speak of the 73's and more specifically hockey, it's most often the latter ...!!

Bringing in an individual..( owner ) with one objective, one goal is a bad idea, especially when the individual is not from the area and his main purpose of having his own team is to have a roster spot for his son who would otherwise not see any ice time at this level !!

...not that I am suggesting that this is the case here in Kemptville but......SURE, why not run with it....who ever is listening !!

It's truly a shame...I used to love going to watch the 73's....a lot of the players were from the area and watching them gave the town a sense of pride, of course winning the way they did HELPED tremendously !

This day and age with the new complex and all that is happening in and around town, I guess we've outgrown the JR.B ranks.....in a couple - 3 years this individual will have this team up for sale as his son will not be able to go any further and we will likely be back to square one again with another and the very same objectives !!

C'mon people....you know who you are in Kemptville with all the cash.....in the interest of a small hockey town, bring back some pride and let's get rid of the outsiders who really don't give a damn.....
