Leafs preparing for extreme makeover

The Maple Leafs and their players know there are going to be a number of changes over the next three weeks and they're trying to deal with them, reports the Toronto Sun.

Forwards Nik Antropov, Alexei Ponikarovsky, Jason Blake, Dominic Moore, Matt Stajan and Ryan Hollweg, defensemen Pavel Kubina, Tomas Kaberle, Ian White and Mike Van Ryn, and goalie Vesa Toskala, have all been named in various trade speculation.

Leafs GM Brian Burke has admitted that trade talks have intensified this month, and that's only to continue as we lead into the March 4 trade deadline.

"(Burke) wants changes, he wants to rebuild this team and it's not a surprise," Antropov told the Sun. "He is the GM, he has the full right to do that."

Antropov will most certainly be moved, as Burke has already indicated those intentions.

Kaberle and Kubina have no-trade clauses, but they've already indicated that they're willing to accept a move if the team insists on it.

Kaberle will be submitting a list of teams he'd accept a trade to, while Kubina is expected to do the same.

Wait until the season is over and the leafs are golfing for a 4th straight season. Alot of players will be gone when the brian burke house cleaning company starts up for business!!

I can't wait to see Burke start cleaning house! It'd be a nice change to see a lot of new fresh faces take over playing for this franchise. And I think we will be The Team To Hate once again in the not so distant future with Burke on board.
