Habs win 3-2 in nail bitter over the Best in the West.

A wild game tonight in Montreal against the San Jose Sharks.

1st Period.

Montreal started out slow and San Jose came out strong rushing the play for the first ten minutes or so. Then Laraque dropped the Gloves with Jody Shelley and turned him inside out like he does most nights against anybody who tries to take him on. This gave Montreal a spark as they exploded for Three goals by Koivu, Georges, and Markov. Montreal sort of caught San Jose sleeping.

2nd Period

The Sharks came out hard in the 2nd period as komisarek got a penalty right at the start for interference on marleau. Then the 3rd best powerplay in the league went to work and it didn't take long for them to strike within the first minute of the game as pavelski tapped in a rebound. Then it seems like when you blinked the sharks scored again when thornton beat halak on a hard shot that just got through. Montreal got out played and out worked from start to finish. San Jose showed why they are the number one team in the Western Conference.

3rd Period

Not much of a change from the second period except of the man behind the pipes for the Habs. Montreal played defensive the whole time because San Jose just controlled the play and the Canadiens could never get any real scoring chances. And when the habs defense started to crumble, Jaroslav Halak was there as he has been for the previous three games. At one point montreal only had 6 shots on net from the middle frame of the second period to the last 5 mins in the third!! San Jose threw everything but the kitchen sink at Halak who made 42 saves in another brilliant performance to get the much needed win.

Well I'm not a betting man, but i'm sure Halak is gonna play the next game as Montreal heads to buffalo on TRADE DEADLINE DAY MARCH 4th. Note: The Canadiens are now 1point behind the Flyers for 4th seed in the Eastern Conference Standings.

This game was a prime example of why the Habs lost 10 straight. If it wasn't for Halak, it would have easilly been 6-3. The Habs need to keep their foot on the gas for the whole game. This playing the turtle bull**** needs to stop.
